About me

HOW I GOT HERE

University was never really the plan for me. I knew pretty early on that I wanted to do something different, so after school I decided to give myself some time to work, travel, try things and figure out what I actually wanted to build.

And I did a fair bit of all four.

I worked, travelled around Morocco on my own, spent five weeks in Val d’Isère doing my Level 2 ski course, and then headed to Thailand and Vietnam. I’ve always liked having the freedom to change plans, try something new and figure things out as I go  travelling definitely gave me plenty of opportunities to do that.

Along the way, I started getting more interested in business and marketing, building on everything I learnt from school and what I taught myself. I began working with a few businesses and quickly realised that I enjoyed much more than just creating content. I liked getting properly involved, understanding the business, spotting what could be better and coming up with ideas that could actually make a difference.

That’s where Allora came from.

It wasn’t some huge lightbulb moment. It was more a case of doing things, finding the bits I really enjoyed and gradually realising I could build something around them.

So, here we are.

How i work

Allora is where I get to put all of that into practice.

I work with independent businesses that have something good going on, but know there’s more they could be doing with it.

I help businesses look better, market themselves better and grow, bringing together strategy, marketing, brand, websites and the systems behind them.

That might mean reworking a brand or website, creating a clearer marketing strategy, improving the customer journey, putting better systems in place, finding new opportunities or helping launch something completely new.

I like getting properly involved rather than working from the sidelines. I’ll spend time understanding the business, the people behind it and what’s already working, then figure out where there’s room to improve, grow or try something different. There isn’t a set formula. Every business needs something slightly different.

Sometimes they need better marketing. Sometimes they need a new website. Sometimes they need someone to come in, look at the bigger picture and work out what the hell they should be doing next.

That’s where I come in.

A little more around allora.

Coming soon.

I’m still working on this bit, but I’ll be sharing ideas, what I’m learning, what I’m noticing and a few thoughts that feel worth writing down.
